Bobbie Mac Kannon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather passed into heaven on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 97. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Kim Kannon Pruitt (Bobby), his son Ron Anderson; grandchildren Lance Anderson, Jami Anderson Kirchner (Russell), and Amy Pruitt Baden (Wes); great-grandchildren Harper Kannon Kirchner, Tori McDuffie, Morgan Baden Maxwell (Thomas), and Jacob Baden (Miranda); and great-great-grandchildren Baden and Wesley Maxwell. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry and Wilma (Bill) Kannon, and his beloved wife of 63 years, Millagene (Milly) Beck Kannon. Sergeant Bob Kannon, BTRY-C 61st Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Cav DIV, US Army, was a World War II veteran who served in Japan. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and worked for many years at Westbrook Funeral Home. Bob was a member of the Beebe Masonic Lodge #145 and worked at the Little Rock Air Force Base as an inspector for 34 years. Bob was one of the kindest men ever known, loved his family deeply, and was regarded as a true southern gentleman. He enjoyed his pipe, lighted or not, and 3 coke floats a day all of his adult life. He would often purchase 15 cartons of Yarnell’s homestyle vanilla ice cream at once when the price was right to stock up. In 2022, Bob was recognized as the oldest living member of First Baptist Church in Beebe where he served for many years on the Offertory Counting Committee. Recently, when he could no longer attend services, he drove there each Sunday to give his weekly offering. At 97, he continued to drive daily to McDonalds for a free coffee with his coffee crew and to the cemetery to visit his beloved Milly. He liked to be outside and continued to mow his lawn and burn leaves until he passed. The family would like to give a special thank you to his caregiver for the last 5 years, Joleen Pruitt. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Beebe or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11 at 11am at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, followed by burial in Beebe Cemetery.
