James Conrad (Jim) Fisher, 92 of Beebe, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was born on August 4, 1929 in Opal, Arkansas to the late Carl Bedford Fisher and Ola Leona Thornton Fisher. Jim has one sister, Betty (Bob) Brown of Fayetteville, Ar. Jim married his High School sweetheart Mattie Ruth Hefner on December 24, 1949. She was truly the love of his life and they were happily married for 72 years. Jim used to love to tell the story that they were the first couple married in the little Antioch Church. He used to laugh and say that because of this everyone came to the wedding just to see the new church and that they became the social entertainment of the season. Jim and Mattie Ruth were blessed with two children, Jamie (Buddy) Burns of Beebe, Arkansas, and Gregg (Susan) Fisher of Tampa, Florida. They were then double blessed with ten grandchildren, Josh (Kimber) Burns, Jordan (Brad) Lawson, Carl (Alyssa) Fisher, Kennedy (Danielle) Fisher, Jake Burns, Sarah Fisher, Mabry Leigh Fisher, Judd (Miranda) Burns, Harrison Fisher and Emma Beth Fisher. Jim and Mattie Ruth were then thirdly blessed with fourteen great grandchildren, plus one on the way. Jim was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, where he faithfully served in any way asked. In his young adult years, he served his country in the Arkansas National Guard. He found his life’s calling for the next sixty-one years, selling Ford automobiles. He prided himself in serving his customers; always in a fair and friendly manner. He loved to tell his family that one year he sold the most Ford’s in Arkansas. Above all else, Jim saw caring for his family as his most important life task. His family and their love brought him much joy and fulfilment. Jim will be remembered as a sweet, quiet, kind gentleman. He will be missed. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 10th, at the Beebe First United Methodist Church, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Face Coverings will be required. Arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. To view the Guest Book, please visit www.westbrook@smithfamilycares.com
