Charlie D. Heslep, 91, of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, formerly of Beebe, Arkansas, died May 8, 2021 peacefully, lovingly, surrounded by daughter Denice, son n law Ted and Grandson Dustin. Charlie was born on November 28, 1929 in Arkansas and raised in Pulaski County near the town of Cabot. Parents David W. Heslep and Maxie Ora Clement Heslep. He served his country honorably in the US Navy from 1948-1952 mostly aboard the USS Prairie as an electrician’s mate. He proudly reached the rank of 1st class Petty Officer in his 4 years of service. In 1950 our Mother W. Louise Heslep rode a bus to San Diego, California to marry Charlie. Mom died in August 2010 just shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. He is survived by 4 children D. Dwayne Heslep, Denice (Ted) Heslep Fuhrmann, Sharla (Mike) Heslep Giannecchini and Willis D. (Lisa) Heslep. Predeceased by eldest Son C. Dwight (Shelly) Heslep and Dwight’s son Joshua. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Venetia Casto of Arkansas and Carolyn Sawyers of Texas, predeceased by sister Velma Grace Heslep. Survived by 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. “Rejoice, for Dad is home in the promised land.” He will be interred in Johnson Chapel Cemetery west of Des Arc on Hwy 38 West, next to his wife.
