Waymon Harrell has gone home to rest in the LORD. He had been longing to see the finish line with great anticipation these last few months, and crossed the Ultimate Finish Line on Saturday, April 24, 2021 shortly before noon. His son, Howard, and daughter-in-law, Vicki, of Conroe, Texas were there to cheer him on as he went to join his wife Maxine, who won her last race in May 2016. Waymon and Maxine ran the race and fought the good fight for the LORD most notably while leading the youth of Beebe during Methodist Youth Fellowship at First Methodist Church of Beebe in the 1970s and 1980s. Waymon was an avid marathon runner during this time of his life and loved to run the hills between Beebe and Floyd while training for the next big race. He also loved to serve the LORD on numerous Mission Trips to foreign countries to spread the Good News, while supporting the LORD in other ways at First Methodist Conroe. He was born in October 1929, the son of L.D. Harrell and Wilma Huff of Beebe, Antioch, and Floyd. He is survived by his sister, Pat Naugher, and her husband, Don, of Amarillo, Texas. Also on his team is his granddaughter, Amy Huggins, her deceased husband Wade, and three children Wade, Maggie, and Katie of Austin, Texas and grandson Waymon (Tres) Harrell III and his wife Poli and their three children Victoria (ViVi), Breno, and Pedro all of Mansfield, Texas. Waymon is also proud to have numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and supporters scattered across the US, but especially in Arkansas and Texas, to cheer him on as he prays for them to be faithful to the LORD until they reach the Ultimate Finish Line. There is a Memorial Service scheduled at First Methodist Church Conroe, Texas on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 10:00 am (Call: 936-756-3395 to verify times, please). The Viewing for Waymon will be held Friday evening, May 14, 2021 from 7:00-8:00 pm at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 West Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Arkansas and a Graveside Service will be held Saturday morning May 15th at 10:00 am at Antioch Cemetery.
