We heard this past week that Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh passed away at age 99. I wouldn’t know too much about him had I not recently watched “The Crown.” Actually, I’ve watched it twice. I wanted to get more familiar with the way a monarchy works in the UK and also – my maternal grandfather came to America from England when he was 13. I can’t even imagine doing something like that all by yourself. He was a brick mason by trade. I wanted to see what it might have been like when he was growing up in Liverpool. He has been dead many years and I never knew him. He died when my mom was 16 but she has many fond memories of him. Anyway, back to Prince Philip, his funeral is this Saturday. While I was watching “The Crown” I had mixed feelings about him but all in all – I think he was a very interesting man. Things are so different over there than here. Keep Calm and Carry On!
