Curtis “Roland” Ramsey, 81, of Beebe went to be with his Lord April 21, 2020. He was born February 14, 1939 to Ellis and Winnie Ramsey, in Searcy Arkansas. Roland enjoyed living in Beebe his whole life. He briefly served in the Army National Guard at Searcy in 1960. Roland was often seen riding his bicycle around town delivering newspapers and visiting. He always had a smile and kind word for anyone he met. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church Beebe, where he loved singing in the choir. Roland had an affection for many things including Elvis, animals, especially dogs, and family gatherings. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Ellis Ramsey, Jr., Eugene Ramsey, and Paul Ramsey. Roland is survived by his three sisters-in-law Anne Ramsey of Beebe, Linda Ramsey-Moore of Texas, and Pam Ramsey-Kennedy of North Little Rock, nephew Aaron Ramsey, nieces Alicia Ellis, Meredith Parks, Kendall Saldana, and many family and friends The family would like to extend their gratitude to the members of First Baptist and the community for the love and wonderful support over the years. They would also like to give a special thank you to the staff of Beebe Retirement Center for the excellent care they provided Roland over the past year. There was an open visitation Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 11:00am-4:00pm at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 11:00am Friday at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Beebe.
