Beebe Council Buys Police Vehicles; Hires New Patrolman

The Beebe City Council met Monday night for their regular monthly meeting. The council approved purchasing two new police vehicles as two of our vehicles were totaled in the past month. The two new vehicles are 2 – 2018 Ford police SUVs at $26,265. each. One is silver and one is black. The city will get $19,525 from insurance on the two wrecked vehicles so the city will be out about $33,000 plus some minor modifications. Mayor Mike Robertson told the council that the dog run at the shelter is complete and that the new parking lot at Daniel Park will be graveled within the next month. It will be paved after the gravel settles. The council talked about plans for July 4th to be held Sat., May 30th.
