ASU-Beebe’s 90th Anniversary Events to Present Veterans Salute on November 9

Arkansas State University-Beebe’s 90th Anniversary Event Series will present a Veterans Salute on Thursday, Nov. 9, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Dr. Eugene McKay Student Center at the Beebe campus. The event is free admission and open to the public.   The Veterans Salute will be the final 90th Anniversary event and will be a special celebration in honor of ASU-Beebe’s long relationship with Little Rock AFB and military students in the community.   Exhibits and vendors will be set up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Veterans Salute Ceremony will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.   Additionally, Dr. Buck Foster with the University of Central Arkansas History Department will speak from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on “The Great War in Arkansas,” which is a sanctioned event of the Arkansas World War I Centennial.   The Veterans Salute will include special music presented by the ASU-Beebe Symphonic Band. The ASU-Beebe ROTC students will assist with the inflatable Obstacle Course, and Blackhawk Helicopters will be on campus for viewing.      Veterans are especially invited to attend the Veterans Salute.
