What’s Left?

Today (Mon., Oct. 2nd) is my mom’s 90th birthday! It’s hard to believe that she is 90 as she acts like someone 70 or younger. She still has that zest for life that we all hope we will have as we get older and she is intellectually engaged in world and local events. That is important and I’m so proud of her and the way she takes care of herself and tries to stay healthy. I hope you had a great birthday, mom! We love you! Also today – on a much sadder note – the shooting in Las Vegas last night in which a lone shooter on the 32nd floor of a hotel – took aim at people at an outdoor country music concert below. So far today, they say 58 people were killed and 500 were injured. That is so incredibly horrible! To be at a concert and hear what you might have thought at first was fireworks – but then you start seeing people around you falling to the ground. You don’t know where to hide or which way to run because you don’t know where the shooting is coming from. So scary! And the shooter – a retired accountant – had no criminal history and was not affiliated – as far as they can see so far – with any left-wing organization. What happens with people like that? Do they just snap? How do you get 10 rifles in a hotel room without anyone noticing? So many questions. Our prayers go our for those victims and their families. May God have mercy on them! Go to your happy place! See you next week!
