Dr. Belinda Shook – superintendent of Beebe School District – announced Monday morning, Aug. 7th at an assembly of all of the district’s teachers that she will retire at the end of this school year. In an interview with The Beebe News, she said, “I tell people all the time that  I have been here since first grade! Being the superintendent of this wonderful school district has been an honor and a blessing. We have accomplished many things over the last 13 years, but the greatest thing about the Beebe School District will always be the people. We have excellent students, supportive patrons, and wonderful employees who work hard every day for our students. Change is hard but this seems to be a good time to step down. I am going out with the class I came in with thirteen years ago.” We are saddened by this news but wish Dr. Shook the absolute best – as she has always given us her best over the years!
