Beebe Man Convicted of Rape

On Monday, June 05, 2017, William Patrick Stillman, 58 of Beebe, appeared in White County Circuit Court for a sentencing hearing after a guilty plea on May 8th, 2017, to 1 count of Rape. Stillman was charged on October 2nd, 2016, after Beebe Police received a call for assistance after witnesses heard a woman screaming for help from the stretch of woods next to Walmart’s parking lot. The victim was attacked from behind and assaulted as she was walking through the area. Evidence from the scene as well as surveillance footage assisted detectives in quickly identifying the suspect and taking him into custody. He was sentenced today by Circuit Judge Robert Edwards to 25 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. According to state law, Stillman will be required to serve 70% of the time.
