What’s Left?

I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. I attended the ceremony at our Veterans Monument – as I usually do. There were about 30 people present and it was a beautiful day. During the service I usually think about those veterans both alive and passed whom I know/knew – like the late Col. Paul Wright – who used to come to every service on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. He is no longer with us – but I think about him each time I am at the Veterans Monument. Today, I noticed Mr. James Sentell – a Korean War Veteran. I did a story on him many years ago – and his time in the war was rough. I will always remember that story and what he experienced. I was so glad to see him at the service we had today and honored to be there with a veteran who has given so much for those of us who have not served in the military. “Thank you for your service, Mr. Sentell!” There were other veterans there, too. And may I say, “Thank you for your service, as well!” Whether you are able to come to a ceremony on Memorial Day or Veterans Day – please take a moment to recognize the many, many benefits we have because of the sacrifices they made for us! Go to your happy place! See you next week!
