Kelly Dunning-Lane Graduates from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine

Kelly Dunning-Long, a former student of Beebe High School and Arkansas State University-Beebe, will be graduating from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine on May 11th, 2015.  Kelly will be celebrating this event with her husband, Brent Long, who also attended Beebe High School, and her parents, Jaxie and Ron Heppner of Beebe.  Kelly formerly attended ASU-Beebe, where she studied Health Sciences.

Upon graduation, Kelly was accepted into the University of Central Arkansas and received a transfer scholarship for full tuition.  She majored in pre-professional biology and minored in chemistry.  Kelly received her Bachelor of Sciences- Biology degree from UCA.

Upon graduation, Kelly enrolled in the Master’s program at the University of Central Arkansas, where she worked under the advisory Dr. Kary Naylor, pHD., professor of cell biology, and received  a teacher’s/research assistant position.  Kelly performed preliminary cellular biological research studies and taught microbiology as an assistant, before accepting a seat as a veterinary student at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and receiving a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology.

Kelly will be graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and is primarily interested in small animal medicine, especially feline medicine.  She has accepted a position with The Cat Hospital of Tampa Bay, and will be moving there upon graduation.  She hopes to specialize in feline medicine and become a board-certified feline practitioner.
