Well today (Wed.) is the big day for BP to possibly stop the oil leak  in the ocean off the coast of Louisiana. I pray that it gets stopped and that more help is sought for the clean-up.  I really hope, as almost everyone does, that the oil does not ruin anymore beaches or environments for wildlife. I hope by my next column I can say that the oil leak has been plugged.
Are you getting ready for a big Memorial Day weekend?  The school kids have Monday off and then just go Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2nd - then it’s summertime!  I know they are so ready!  Can’t speak for the parents.  Kids - enjoy every minute, it goes by so quick. Parents - try to find things to do in our great state of Arkansas! We have so many great things to offer families for summer fun. You can check it out on the  web at www.arkansas.com. It’s a great starting place for planning your vacation.
My cats.  What can I say. There is always some drama going on. I brought my cats from the office home and all was going well until, suddenly, the influx of these four new cats into my mix, has brought about a personality change for one of my most timid cats - Latte’. He suddenly thinks he is Top Cat. He has no claws but my office cats apparently don’t know that. One of the office cats, Samson, has been bullying two of my biggest cats - and apparently - biggest chickens. They huddle in the bathroom instead of facing him. It’s sad. I don’t know what I’m going to do about it. I don’t want to have to have Samson’s claws removed but I may have to in order to level the playing field - so to speak. But somehow, Latte’ has called the bluff of Samson and Samson is afraid of Latte’ - even though, as I said earlier, Latte’ has no claws. It’s somewhat maddening. I don’t want to decrease the freedom or increase the anxiety of my regular house cats - but I have to mesh these new cats to their new home environment and “brothers and sisters.” It seems to be a constant juggling act.  But isn’t life kind of like that?
The other day I decided to open a Facebook account so I could communicate with my cousins and others. Well, it was overwhelming. Everytime I opened the thing there was stuff all over the place. It would take me an hour or more each day to keep up with the things that were on my account. I decided it was something I could just do without. So, to all of you who were my “friends” - sorry. We’ll have to email or call or maybe even  write???  It took me almost an hour to figure out how to deactivate my account. Now that’s just crazy!  I’m just going to be happy being less tech!
Hope you have a great start to your summer. Have a good Memorial Day weekend!
Go to your happy place.
See you next week!
