Me and Little Buddy at the end of our 8-week doggy obedience class. OK - to be truthful - he didn’t pass - well, he kind of did. He passed everything except lying down for 3 minutes. He’s just a puppy, he can’t stay still for 3 minutes! He was the only “stud” in the class and there were five females around him - who all passed. Those girls just aren’t as distracted by boys as boys are by girls. I’m making excuses for him. But really, he is very smart and we will work on the 3 minutes and get his graduation certificate. Don’t you worry, Little Buddy! You’re going to be a smart dog - sooner or later. When I began this class, I would be so sore the next two days from walking with him, stooping over to get him to quit sniffing the ground when he was supposed to be heeling, and pulling on the leash. It really let me know what terrible shape I am in - muscle wise. So, I’m going to get with the program, so to speak, and start working my muscles on a regular basis. Thanks, Little Buddy! All kidding aside, he really is a good dog -and smart. This class has allowed me to bond with him in a way that I wouldn’t have if we hadn’t taken the class together - plus he has several “girlfriends.” When I come in from working with Little Buddy, the cats shun me. They hate that doggy smell. Who doesn’t? Speaking of dogs, we have some beautiful dogs at the Animal Shelter. If you ever thought of adopting - go down there and look at the ones we have. They are all very nice dogs.
I hope you voted Tuesday! It’s your right and your duty! I’ll be at the courthouse tonight (Tues.) to get the results - even though I know they will eventually be on the internet. It’s just fun to go to the courthouse. If you’ve never done it, come on up there in November. You will have a great time seeing some of the candidates and getting your political fix.
Congratulations to the BHS Class of 2010! I was at the graduation exercises Friday night - which were held in the arena - and it went very well. The school had rented four very big porta-cool units which put out cold air to keep the area comfortable. Also, rain and a cool front came through so the outside temp was only about 73. So it was nice! One of the best inside graduations I have attended. Way to go! Now - come on summer!
Go to your happy place.
See you next week!
