Well, this is the first column to sport my new picture with Simba. I can’t tell you how hard it was for me to take the column head off which has my little Squeak on it. It’s been over a year since she went off to be a little kitty angel - and she would want her adoptive kitty, Simba, to step up to the plate. Simba came to our home via the news office. He was just a kitten someone had dropped off and I brought him home. Squeak immediately decided he was her kitten. She would meow and meow at him and try to take him under the bed so she could lick him. He was already too big for her to pick up even when he was a kitten. He now weighs about 20 lbs. He is huge.  He is a sweet but mischieveous cat. He sleeps right next to me every night until he gets too hot and then he gets down and lays on the tile floor. Squeak tried to tell Simba what to do right up till the time she died - just like a mom, huh?  I guess it is somewhat appropriate to make this change on Mother’s Day week.
I’ll take this opportunity to say, “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!” I’ve got to take the cats shopping so they can get you something nice!!!
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 9th!  And then the next week, on Friday night, May 14th, the BHS Class of 2010 will graduate. My, my - how time flies!
I hope you have a great week!
Go to your happy place.
