What’s Left?Apr 29th, 2010 | By admin | Category: Opinion
We are lucky here in Beebe that we have a university that brings in top class entertainment for those of us who want to take advantage of it. Last Thursday night, April 22, I was one of the lucky 100-200 people who enjoyed attending the performance of Tom Tiratto and his orchestra. He performs a tribute to Frank Sinatra. It was amazing! I really enjoy the Big Band sound and the rest of the audience did, too. It was a fun evening and a big thank you to ASU-Beebe, Centennial Bank and Tom Tiratto and his orchestra for providing us with this great performance! The only problem I’ve had is not having one of those songs playing in my head constantly. I’ll be trying to write (even this story) and in my head I hear, “Fly Me to the Moon…” But, I guess that’s a good problem to have! Thanks, Tom!
Can you believe it’s almost May? I think April lost a couple of weeks somewhere. Things go by so fast that it’s hard to keep up. And this time of year there seems to be so much going on. This Friday - into Saturday, there is the Relay for Life at Daniel Park. It starts at 6 p.m. and would be a great cause for you to go out there and walk or just give a donation to help fight cancer with the American Cancer Society. And, baseball season is underway so I’m sure lots of you are at the park one to three nights a week! Graduation is coming up May 14th! It just boggles the mind. And it’s not just me that is behind, I think the weather thinks it’s still the first of April. It was really cold yesterday (OK - cool) and today (Wed.) it’s still pretty cool. I’m so glad we avoided the tornadic weather here in Beebe last weekend. I feel sorry for those people in Mississippi who got hit with so many tornadoes and had so much destruction. I just can’t imagine the horror of looking up and seeing a huge tornado coming straight for you. It would be terrible. Let’s hope we can escape any of that this year!
My cats are getting so spoiled. I know it is my fault. I’m going to try to initiate some scaling back of some of the things I do for them so that I can spend more time playing with them rather than just feeding them. They won’t like it and there will probably be a mutiny taking place.
My little kitty I asked you to pray for passed away. I believe I should have asked you about two weeks before that but I kept thinking he was going to pull out of it. I guess it was just his time - even though he was young. It is so hard to lose a young one but he had been sickly ever since I got him. He’s up in heaven playing with some of his buddies.
Go to your happy place.
See you next week!
