What’s Left?Apr 22nd, 2010 | By admin | Category: Opinion
Do you ever have those moments when you just stop and step back and look at your life? Well, I’ve been having a few of those lately. I can’t believe the time I spend on my cats. I probably spend 95% of my free time (time not at work) on my cats and two dogs. And that is not an overkill - I could spend a couple of more hours per day on them if I wanted to get things just the way they should be. I’m not saying that is a waste of time because I love my cats - and two dogs. I know that if I hadn’t taken them in, they would probably have all been put to sleep. And you might say, “So what?” But it really does matter to me and I’m not trying to pat myself on the back or anything it’s just that you have to do what you believe in - as much as you can. I believe every domestic animal has the right to food, clean water and shelter - and love. I also believe that for children but I’m not where I can adopt several children - although if I were a wealthy person - I might do that. I really admire people who can open their lives and hearts to adopt children that have no family or no family that wants them. As I work with my animals, it has made me realize more and more how most living creatures - us included - just need love (and food, water and shelter). So, if you can remove yourself from what the “normal” is - accumulating stuff, etc. and see that life is about sharing your love with those “creatures” around you, it makes things much more simple and true. At least that is how I see it. I do wish I could find a few more hours in the day to do all that is needed but until that time, I’ll just keep plugging along.
I have one sick kitty right now and ask that you would pray for him to recover. His name is E.T. Thank you.
Go to your happy place.
See you next week.
