Pearl Medlin born Pearl McElderry in Tennessee on August 27, 1920 entered the spirit world on March 29, 2010.
Growing up in Tennessee with her 6 siblings, Pearl married AC Cobb and moved to the Chicago area where she worked at Perfection Gear in Harvey for more than 20 years and raised her son Jerry following AC’s death. She met and married John T. Medlin, making homes where John’s job took them, settling in Arkansas where she gardened, fished and enjoyed bird watching for 35 years. After John’s death in 2002 she continued to garden and bird watch. Pearl was a resident of Prarieview Lutheran Home’s Faith Place in Danforth, IL for the past 2 years and is survived by her son, Jerry and daughter-in -Law Jeanette Cobb, her grandson, David and granddaughter-in-law, AnnMarie Cobb, great grandson-in-law, Timothy Schoeckel, several nephews and nieces and many special friends.
Pearl’s wishes were to be laid to rest next to her beloved husband John in El Paso, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a service at Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas on Friday, April 9, 2010. Interment will be in Grizzard Cemetery.
