What’s Left?Apr 1st, 2010 | By admin | Category: Opinion
Give, give, give. I’m not just talking to you but to myself also. There are so many needy people, projects and countries now days. Locally we have the Ministerial Alliance - which helps people who come through town and are in need and they also do a lot for the people in need in our town; there is also the Beebe Education Scholarship Foundation (see ad this page) where you can put your money to help provide a scholarship to a needy and deserving student - it’s a great legacy to leave; and, of course, you can always give money to your church, the Beebe Humane Society and our local (and new) animal shelter. It’s easy to forget in this time of recession that we still need to make arrangements to give.
Are you getting ready for Easter? Our family usually gets together after church and has a nice lunch together. It’s fun to visit and catch up. It seems here lately that we only see each other on special occasions. I hope you and your family have a good holiday.
My cats are doing pretty good. I do have a couple of sick ones. But, when you have lots of cats, one or two are sick all the time. So, that’s not unusual. But, I think they are going to be fine. It just takes extra time trying to make sure you’re giving them what they need. I’ve been thinking that I need to film my cats -probably at feeding time (soft food feeding time), they have hard food out at all times. It’s like a shark feeding frenzy. The problem is that the “pigs” get all the food and the poor older kitties don’t get as much if any. So, I’ve started letting some of my thin older kitties go in the other room and eat by themselves so the younger cats don’t gobble up the food so fast that the older ones can’t get any. You know which ones are doing it because they are getting fat. Apparently, my calico kitty twins are big “pigs” because both of them are getting fat. But the whole time they are rushing for the various food plates, they are meowing incessantly. It’s pretty funny. I’ve thought about recording that for a ringtone but I would be constantly looking around for cats when my phone was ringing. So, not gonna do that.
It’s almost garden time. This year, my son, Christian, has decided that he is going to do the garden. He has it all scientifically figured out with elaborate watering systems and that weed screen over everything. So, theoretically, when he gets it planted, all he will have to do is spray for bugs - as needed - and harvest. We’ll see how that works. I’m just glad I’m not in charge of it. I do like to eat those fresh vegetables but I’m not real good at giving them the attention they need.
Enjoy this gorgeous weather we’re having this week!
