I can’t believe that the snow is still on the ground in places.  I believe this is the longest we’ve had snow on the ground in my lifetime. At least, it’s the longest that I can remember.  Today, Tuesday, makes eight days with snow on the ground. I’m not sure if the snow will make it through tomorrow - but it might. There are still a few snowmen hanging on as little balls of crunchy snow. Poor Frosty!
Have you been watching the Olympics?  I’ve watched a lot of it!  I really like the downhill skiing and the snowboarding. After the tragic death of the luge man from Georgia, Russia, just before the Olympics began, it has really put a damper on that sport. I think anytime you go up to 92 or 93 miles per hour and your just laying on that little sled, it’s extremely scary. I really don’t think the poor guy would have made it even if that pole had been padded - as it is now. When you hit something going that fast with virtually no protection except a helmet- that force is going to go through your body and do some deadly damage - as it did.
Anyway, it’s been exciting watching the other events. I like most of the events and especially those I previously mentioned and also the ice skating. I really can’t watch the speed racing or the curling (sp?).  They are just too boring to me. But I do admire all the athletes for giving it their all and competing. You have to admire all of them for what they go through and what they give up to get that far in a sport. It’s inspirational.
Now, on another note. For all of you who loved to come to the office to see my cats, I’m sorry to tell you that I have taken them to my house. Now, to all of you who didn’t like to come to the office because of the cats, good news - they’re at my house. It has been so funny seeing them transition to my house. They are really liking it because they get to see lots more birds and there are more windows and I get to interact with them more. I still have one that is under my bed and only comes out at night. But, hopefully, she will get more social. The others are doing really well. Yes, they are being somewhat destructive with things they’ve not been around too much - unrolling the toilet paper, eating the fish food, etc. But, they’ll get better. I feel better having them at home with me.  For ten years, I’ve enjoyed having them at the office but now it’s time for them to retire from public service and enjoy their later years. They’ve earned it.
I hope you have a great week!  Go to your happy place!

See you next week!
