Beebe artist, Larry Covington, recently took 1st place & Best of Show at the Ark. State Fair for his watercolor painting titled “The Formation of Heber Lake.” It also took Best of Show and “A” rating at the White County Fair.  Covington attended ASU-Beebe and ASU Jonesboro and received his Bachelor’s degree and was awarded a graduate assistantship in sculpture. He assists the Beebe Public School art class with instruction in sculpture. Covington retired from the U.S. Navy in 1997 and made his home here in Beebe.
