The junior high Badger basketball team took third place in hte Beebe/Centennial Bank Junior High Preseason Tournament held in Beebe from Nov. 14-21.
The Badgers took on Batesville in the first round of the tournament and defeated the junior Pioneers 45-20.
Beebe started the game on a 12-2 first quarter run and led 29-11 at the break.  The Badgers were led by Austin Burroughs who had 12 points, Jake Schlenker added 10, including a 4 for 4 showing from the line and Austin Benton finished the game with nine points.
In other first round action Lonoke was defeated by Harding Academy setting up the Badgers semi-final game.  Beebe played the junior Wildcats in a close contest, but Harding won the game 42-37 putting them in the finals against CAC who defeated Searcy and Mountain Home.
Austin Burroughs led the Badgers with 13 points and Brandon Stane added nine in the loss to the Wildcats.
The Badgers took on Mountain View for the third place spot in the tournament.  Beebe led by four at the half, but a 19-6 third quarter run put the Badgers in the lead for good, eventually beating Mountain Home 48-27 for a third place showing.
Beebe was led by Stane who had 10 points, Jared Gowan added nine points and Jake Schlenker put in eight for Beebe.
