As I write this (Tuesday night) I am watching Apollo 13 - the movie with Tom Hanks as an astronaut. It is one of my favorite all-time movies but it makes me incredibly nervous - even though I’ve seen it several times. I can’t believe those guys - and this is based on a real life event - could hold on to their cool so well. That astronaut program must be something else. Even the engineers kept their cool and were able to “work the problem.”  It was also pretty funny watching how the guys in the space craft tried to keep the guys on the ground from knowing how they were really feeling and vice versa.
I love it when the engineers on the ground are trying to make a round filter out of the items the astronauts have on board. The successful landing of  Apollo 13 with no loss of life - was one of America’s finest accomplishments. It is such an inspirational movie.
I can’t say that I’ve ever had any sort of problem that reaches anywhere near that level but I do see that you have to break it down and start working at the beginning and work through it.   In the movie, one of the astronauts starts talking about some problem that might occur down the line and Tom Hanks says, “ We have several things that have to happen in order before we need to worry about that. That is problem 643 and we’re on problem 8.”  - or something like that. That’s good advice.
Hope you have a great week. Go to your happy place.
See you next week!
