Arkansas State University-Beebe will display the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence Clothesline Awareness Project on Thursday October 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence Clothesline Awareness Project is a visual display that bears witness to the deadly reality of violence against women.  The clothesline holds a t-shirt for all known female murder victims dating back to 1989.  There are currently over 460 t-shirts in the presentation.
The Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV) is a nonprofit organization that has served both rural and urban areas of Arkansas since its inception in 1981.  Its goals are to strengthen the existing support systems serving battered women and their children, develop legislation that provides legal protection to victims, promote public policies which meet the needs of victims,  pursue funding for programs working with battered women and their children, and provide training for the public and those working with victims.
October is Domestic Violence Prevention/Awareness Month.  Information will be offered along with the presentation.
The Clothesline Awareness Project will be on display in the gym located in the Owen Center on the ASU-Beebe campus and is open to the campus and community.
