Two Arrested for Delivery of Counterfeit Substance

Willson, 28, of Beebe were arrested on October 13th, 2009 in Beebe for “Delivery of a Counterfeit Substance” which is a class “A” Felony according to Beebe Police Chief Wayne Ballew. Ballew said that undercover officers with the White County Sheriff’s Office utilized a confidential informant to negociate the delivery of 3.5 grams of “Ice” methamphetamine from Knight in Beebe. The Sheriff’s Deputies then contacted the Beebe Police Department’s Narcotics section and requested assistance with the investigation. Chief Ballew said that the couple were arrested in Knight’s 2001 Ford pickup behind a business located at 1701 Dewitt Henry Drive at approximately 3:00 p.m.
“The exchange of money and a substance represented to be methamphetamine had been supplied to the informant at that location,” according to the Chief. Both individuals were transported to the Beebe Police Department for processing. Further investigation through a chemical field test that the plastic bag of substance provided to the informant was not methamphetamine but rather some type of salt. Chief further explained that “Ice” is a form of methamphetamine that is smoked rather than injected or ingested through the nose. Both suspects were taken to the White County Detention Center in Searcy in lieu of bond.
