Walmart Holds Big Graduation Event for First Walmart Academy Graduates

BY LEE “CAT” McLANE Editor/Publisher The Beebe Walmart Academy held their first class graduation Friday, Feb. 10th. The graduating class of 30 Walmart hourly supervisors and department managers received two weeks of classroom and sales floor instruction. The Beebe Walmart Academy is one of five in the state of Arkansas with sixty-three in the nation on the way to 200 by the end of 2017. Beebe’s academy serves 23 stores. Beebe Walmart manager Tim Hammack and several managers from the area and Walmart executives were on hand Friday – along with a D.J. – to make the graduation a special event. There were testimonials from students as well as managers as to what the leadership training will mean to Walmart and to the customer’s experience. Beebe city officials were on hand as Walmart gave checks to the City of Beebe, Beebe Animal Shelter and Beebe Fire Department. Beebe Walmart opened in August of 2013.
