Two services were held Memorial Day in Beebe. The first ceremony began  at 10 a.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens where a new Veterans Section was dedicated. Beebe VFW Post 7769 members were there for the dedication ceremony and local Boy Scout Troop 362 raised the flag and played Taps. Singing the National Anthem was Mrs. Shelly Lincoln – wife of White County Judge Michael Lincoln. State Senator Jonathan Dismang presented American flags to Jeff Smith, owner of Smith Westbrook Funeral Home. The Beebe Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for the Veterans Section.

The second ceremony was held at noon at the Beebe Veterans Monument on Dewitt Henry Drive. The VFW Post 7769 Cmdr. Ken Adams and Vice Cmdr. Richard Kilby – who was acting Chaplain for this ceremony joined Mayor Mike Robertson and Michael Westergren of the American Legion Post 91. Boy Scout Troop 362 also raised the flag at  this ceremony as well.

The rain held off for both ceremonies and several people attended both events.
