Mendenhall Receives First Electric Scholarship

Jacksonville, Ark., – First Electric Cooperative recently awarded a $2,000 college scholarship to Whitnee Mendenhall of Beebe.

Scholarships are awarded annually and funded by First Electric’s member-supported Operation Round-Up program. Members who participate in Operation Round-Up volunteer to have their monthly electric bill rounded up to the next even dollar amount. That money is held in a trust and distributed as scholarships to high school seniors and as donations to local nonprofit organizations.
