ASU Beebe Shakespeare Junior to Present “Macbeth” August 8Aug 6th, 2014 | By admin | Category: Entertainment
Arkansas State University-Beebe Star Children’s Theater will perform the Shakespeare Junior adapted production of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” on Friday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Owen Center Theater on the Beebe campus. The event is free admission, and is open to the public.
War, betrayal, greed and vengeance! Sounds like the tag line for a summer block buster. The cast of “Macbeth” includes Mary Claire Durr, Emily Humphrey, Jared Humphrey, Anna McLeran, Trey McLeran, Raistlin Stuart, Sarah Wyatt and Seth Wyatt. Each student plays multiple characters in addition to constructing his or her own costumes and working to complete the props and set.
Shakespeare Junior is a production of the ASU-Beebe Star Children’s Theatre project. The goals of this project are to introduce talented students to all aspects of theatre and provide them a means of artistic expression.
This year’s production is dedicated to the late Dr. Ruth L. Couch, Emeritus Professor of English and former Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, who initiated and named the original program Star Children’s Theatre.
