Badgerstock, a reunion of all associates of Beebe Public Schools, will be held June 21, 2014 at alumni Elizabeth White’s farm located at 488 Highway 64 West in Beebe.

Stephaney Smith Crenshaw, creator of the event and 1979 graduate, first launched the idea over a year ago. Crenshaw said, “The more people we talked to about it, the more we realized a lot of people would enjoy the opportunity to visit with former students, teachers and administrators.” Crenshaw also said, “When the opportunity to gather and have a great time along with supporting the Beebe Public Education Foundation at the same time was discovered we knew it had to happen.”

“The BPEF is ecstatic about the involvement of our community in helping us to fund these very important opportunities for our graduates,” said Dr. Belinda Shook, Beebe Superintendent, “The foundation currently funds 13 scholarships to graduating BHS seniors. Due to the recent recession, many perpetual awards given in honor of very deserving citizens of our community have required assisted funding to continue. Helping BPEF not only helps tomorrow’s graduates but also allows us to continue to honor members of the BHS community.”

Activities are to begin at 2 p.m. and end at 11 p. m. Rita Boyer Taylor is arranging a “jam session” for anyone that would like to bring their instrument and sit in. Rumor is there could be an appearance by some of the “Bull Creek Boys”. Steve McCann and the New Age Outlaws band will perform in the evening. Band members include James Squires and other BHS alumna. A disc jockey is providing music from all genres and decades throughout the day.

The event is free; however, there is a need for donations. Crenshaw said, “As with any event there are expenses to be dealt with, such as bathrooms and entertainment.” “Once those expenses are taken care of the remainder of the donations will be presented to the BPEF scholarship foundation. Alums may make a donation in honor of any current or former BHS student, faculty, administrator or employee.
