Traffic Stop Nets Drug ArrestApr 24th, 2014 | By admin | Category: News and Features
At 7:25 a.m., on Monday, April 21st, 2014, Beebe Officer Quintin Eads accomplished a traffic stop for a license plate violation on U.S. Highway 64 adjacent Cal-Frac. The driver of the 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was identified as: Dwight D. Price, 54, of Des Arc, who was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license, had ficticious license plates and no insurance on his pickup. Price also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Carlisle for “Failure to appear”. Officer Brett Shippee and Officer Lynn Shepard responded to the scene as back up officers.
Price was placed under arrest for the traffic violations and a wrecker was called to impound the vehicle. During the inventory of the truck, Officer Shippee discovered in the cab of the truck ,a zipper bag which contained items of drug paraphernalia with residue believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana in nature, a zip-lock plastic bag containing under one (1) gram of suspected methamphetamine and a small plastic container of vegetation believed to be marijuana. Price was taken to the Beebe Police Department for processing and then transported to the White County Detention Center in Searcy and held in lieu of a $21,065.00 bond. He was incarcerated for “Possession of a controlled substance” X 2 (meth & marijuana), Possession of drug paraphernalia” X 2 (meth & marijuana) and for the traffic offenses.
Carlisle provided a new court date for Price.
