What’s Left?

Well, this is the week we have the grand opening of the new Goff Public Library. It has been a long time coming but well worth the wait. As I said in my column a few weeks ago, this library has the most impressive interior of any building here in Beebe - that I’ve seen. It is and will be the pride of Beebe for years to come. If you haven’t made it over there yet - it’s located between City Hall and the main Fire Station. Make sure you allot plenty of time to tour the library and see all they have to offer. Thanks to all of the people that made this great addition to Beebe possible!

As I am writing this - I am watching a television show on “Inside the Queen Mary 2.”  It is amazing what it takes to run a huge ship like that. It’s very interesting - even though I know I will never go on  the QM2 or any cruise ship - just me - somewhat claustrophobic. But it is an interesting show.

Can you believe this weather? Last week it was in the 80’s and last night it got down to 34 here in town. Tonight they say we may get frost - and then I suppose we will actually warm up and get on with Spring! Yea!

It’s time to start putting your garden out - if you haven’t already. I’m glad we haven’t so we didn’t have to worry about things getting killed by frost. Now - I’m not the gardener - it’s my mom and son who manage that. But I may help some this year. I need to - but it’s hard to work it in with all my cat chores taking up so much time. But I can’t wait to get fresh tomatoes! There is nothing like a fresh-from-your-own-garden tomatoes! Usually we get them around July 4th - but this year it may be the end of July….

Go to your happy place! See you next week!
