Council Approves Hiring New Police Officer

In their regular monthly council meeting held Monday, March 24, the council approved the hiring of LuAnn Sheppard as a full time officer and moved officer Steve Hall from part-time to full-time as a warrant server.

The council heard a presentation from Parks Director Lynn Hatcher giving an update on the park condition as we enter baseball season.

The council approved three ordinances: Ord. 2014-1, an ordinance amending th epermitted uses list contained in C-3 zones (full ord. on Pg. 6); and Ord. 2014-2, an ordinance amending the zoning  map with respect to property located at 905 W. Center St. from R-1 to C-3 (full ord. on Pg. 6) ; and Ord. 2014-3, an ordinance describing the new lock box system which will enable emergency personnel to enter a property without having to wait on the owner in the matter of an emergency. The council discussed the grand opening of the Goff Public Library which will be on April 16th with ribbon-cutting at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. See details at story on top left of this page.
