ASU-Beebe: Senior High School Art Show Winners

Arkansas State University-Beebe recently presented awards following the 38th Annual Senior High School Student Art Show and Exhibit.  The art works were judged on correct use of perspective, contrast, use of color, and creativity in the categories of painting and drawing. Best of Show was presented to Julissa Armenta of Jacksonville High School.  Winners, along with their represented high schools, were announced as follows:

10th Grade

Painting: First place, Michele Peck, Cabot; second place, Breann Rogers, Sylvan Hills; and third place, Chris Eason, Sylvan Hills. Honorable mentions were Alyssa Gordon, Beebe; Emily McGee, Cabot; and Megan McClellan, Vilonia.

Drawing: First place, Sara Westmoreland, Cabot; second place, Brianne Jackson, Beebe; third place, John Herrman, Jacksonville. Honorable mentions were Brianna Mashburn, Jacksonville; and Keosha Banks, Jacksonville.

11th Grade

Painting: First place, Emily Rose Richards, Cabot; second place, Kianna Miessen, Cabot, and Morgan Sanders, Beebe; and third place, Ashton Sharp, Jacksonville. Honorable mentions were Tucker Felix, Jacksonville; and Lilly He, Cabot.

Drawing: First place, Chris Erkel, Jacksonville; second place, Olivia Fredericks, Cabot; and third place, Zack Allen, Jacksonville. Honorable mentions were Holly Austin, Sylvan Hills; and Austin Wheatley, Beebe.

12th Grade:

Painting: First place, Chance Wallace, Cabot; second place, Kayla Griffin, Jacksonville; and third place, Daniela Elias, Sylvan Hills. Honorable mentions were Daniel Gann, Beebe; and Blane Beaty, Vilonia.

Drawing: First place, Nikola Basheka, Jacksonville; second place, Joseph Gomez, Jacksonville; and third place, Brianna Kraatz, Vilonia. Honorable mentions were Brittany Kalina, Jacksonville; and Jordan Bellew, Jacksonville.

The England Center Art Gallery exhibits works of art by students and featured artists throughout the academic year. The gallery, located at the corner of Center and Orange Streets in Beebe, is open to the public, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
