What’s Left?

I had to share a photo of my little pineapple that I’m growing! Isn’t it cute?  It’s about 3” wide and about 6” tall. I started it last summer by cutting the top off a store-bought pineapple. I just placed the top in the dirt (did not bury it) and watered it. I had it out on my patio. This winter I brought the plant (which is in a pot) down to the news office and placed it in the front window. It grew tremendously after that and then a little pineapple began developing. It has been really fun watching it form and grow. Would make a good family project if you like that sort of thing. I don’t know if it will ever get big enough to eat - but it sure is cute. When it gets warm - I think I’ll take it back to the patio - but I may leave it at the news office so no critter will eat it.

Hope you all are having a fun (cold) spring break! Isn’t it typical that you have the great weather the week before spring break and then it becomes unseasonable cold the week of spring break? Well - at least you kids are off and you can sleep late - stay up late, etc. Hope you’re having fun! Parents - it’s only one week. Hang in there.

Go to your happy (warm) place!

See you next week!
