3 p.m. - 5 p.m., SWEETHEART HAYRIDE AND CAMPFIRE. Take your sweetheart on a romantic hayride through fields and woods followed by a cozy campfire with Park Interpreter Maryanne (maryanne.stansbury@arkansas.gov). Blankets and snuggling recommended. Advance reservations and payment required. Meeting place: Pinnacle Valley Road, 1/4 mile East of Hwy 300. Admission: $12 adults; $ 6 children ages 6-12

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is hosting its second Hunters Education Course this winter. If you were born after December 31, 1968, it is mandatory that you complete the Hunters Education training course to receive your Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Hunters Education card.  Presenters from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas State Parks cover important topics to first time hunters such as basic hunting skills, basic shooting skills, hunter ethics and firearms safety. Wednesday, February 12

3 p.m. - 5 p.m., WILD WOMEN WEDNESDAY, Join Park Interpreter Maryanne (maryanne.stansbury@arkansas.gov) for a 3.5-mile hike on the Ouachita Trail (OT). The hike begins at the Ouachita trailhead by the visitor center, heads towards the East Summit trailhead and continues on the East Summit trail stopping at marker #6. The group then doubles back to the starting OT trailhead. The degree is moderate to very strenuous due to uneven terrain and steep incline. Wear appropriate shoes and bring water. Ladies’ hikes are offered every Wednesday through March 26, 2014 at 3 p.m. sharp at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Starting location in the park varies week to week.
