Badgers Drop Two On The Road

Coming off their most lop sided loss of the year  - a 71-16 loss to the Forrest City Mustangs, on Tuesday night January 21st – the Badger boys basketball team traveled to Paragould, on Friday January 24th to face the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles.

After getting off to a slow start and trailing 29-24 at halftime, the Badgers came out firing on all cylinders in the second half against the Golden Eagles. With the game tied at 58-58 and 10 seconds remaining in the contest – the Badgers owned the ball, but missed a an opportunity to score with 5 seconds remaining, the Golden Eagles came up with the ball under their basket, drove the length of the floor and hit a lay up with time expiring – giving them the victory, 60-58.

Leading the Badgers in scoring were Tanner Chapman with 21 points and Zach Baker with 19 points. The Badgers now stand at 5-11 overall and 2-3 in Conference play.

The Badgers will host the Wynne Yellowjackets at Badger Arena on Tuesday January 28th and the Nettleton Raiders on Friday January 31st in Conference action. All games will be broadcast on the Badger network at www.beebebadgers.org beginning at 6 p.m.
