What’s Left?

I’m writing this before Christmas - but our family had our “family Christmas” this past Saturday. You’ll probably see this issue of the newspaper after Christmas but you might see it on Tues., Dec. 24th - as it will be out on the newstands but will be in the mail on Dec. 26th. Anyway - confusing to read and confusing to write.

But back to my family Christmas. Wow!  My brother-in-law, who is a chef-class cook, out did himself this year. We had a taco bar, Mexican theme dinner. We had all sorts of “makings” for our taco - both soft and crunchy. We had grilled Tilapia, grilled shrimp, spicy chicken, beef and several kinds of salsa and what would be an award-winning array of sauces and  purple slaw to go with the tacos. It was tremendous!!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Great job, Jim!!!  My sister had to work so Jim carried the cooking load all by himself - although those of us who had the privilege of attending did bring a food item - and they were also very good. I’m not bragging - it’s just that our family has a lot of good cooks - really! Jim would have to pretty much be the best - but we do have several that are good cooks and some of the younger ones are coming on strong to carry on the tradition.  All in all - it was a fun evening of great food, laughter (Dirty Santa) and just fun being with each other.

I hope you have/will have a great Christmas with your family this holiday season.

Go to your happy place!!!

See you next year!!!!!
