(Wynne) – The Badger football team traveled to Wynne, to face the Yellowjackets, for a 5-A East showdown on Friday night October11th, looking for their third straight Conference win, but came up short at the end of the night, by the score of 59-28.
The Badgers racked up 454 yards of total offense, with 424 yards coming on the ground on 49 carries and 30 yards coming in the air on 2 of 3 complete passes. But the turnover bug struck the Badgers once again, as they fumbled once and had an interception – while the Badgers did not force a turnover all night.
Leading the Badgers ground attack once again was Trip Smith, who rushed for 286 yards on 31 carries, putting him over 1000 yards rushing for the season. Dakota Mahoney also added 33 yards on 4 carries. Micah Dubose passed 3 times – completing 2 of them for 30 yards and an interception.
But the Yellowjackets offense was on fire, as they amassed 621 total yards of total offense on 310 yards on the ground on 29 carries and 311 yards through the air on 11 of 15 passing attempts, with no turnovers.
The Badgers now stand at 3-3 (2-1 in Conference play) and will try and get back on the winning track this Friday night, October 18th against the Blytheville Chickasaws, who are also coming off a defeat at the hands of Greene County Tech, on Homecoming night 2013. All of the festivities will begin at 6:20 for Homecoming Royalty presentation and kick off at 7p.m. Be sure to get there early for a good seat for Homecoming 2013 as it will be a packed house looking for another Badger victory!
