Paragould – The Badger football team traveled to Paragould Friday night, September 27th and notched their second straight victory and first Conference win of the season against the Rams, 49-13.
The Badgers had a solid ground attack led by Trip Smith, who had 131 yards rushing on 20 carries. He was followed by Jesse Crisco who had 98 yards rushing on 7 carries, Dakota Mahoney who racked up 84 yards rushing on 9 carries and Micah Dubois who had 60 yards on 10 attempts.
The Badgers had a total of 430 yards of total offense, of which 422 yards came on the ground on 57 carries. And, for the second week in a row, did not turn the ball over - after turning the ball over nine times in their 1st two games
The Badger defense came up big again this week and held the Rams to only 161 total yards of offense, while forcing four turnovers – which makes nine forced turnovers in the past two games. The Badgers now stand at 2-2 and 1-0 in Conference play.
It was an overall dominating performance, which they will try to carry back to Beebe, as they host the Forrest City Mustangs on Friday night, October 4th at Bro Erwin Stadium. The game begins at 7 p.m. and you better get there early to get a good seat, as this young team marches toward a Conference Championship!
