What’s Left?

I was sitting in church last Sunday and looking around at all the people that I know and have been going to church with for many years and some for only a few years. They are kind of like family in that you know them pretty well. It’s a nice feeling but you hurt when they hurt but also you’re happy when they’re  happy. Also last Sunday our pastor, Padre Russ (Russell Hull) sang a few bars of “How Great Thou Art” like Elvis. It was really pretty good! Lookout Elvis tribute artists! I can’t really explain our church very well. We have such an unusual chemistry in our congregation (and pulpit) but it is really great!

Our church family is filled with unique people.  But really the reason I brought this up is that I was just thinking that living in a small town like we do, you usually know quite a few people and they are kind of like family - but in your church, the people are even closer to you. It’s a good feeling. If you are looking for a place to worship - I wish you’d give us a try (Beebe First United Methodist Church). Elvis might even be in the building…

Well this week is the week when all the new fall shows start. I kind of wanted to watch The Blacklist. I started watching it part-way through - saw this really bloody torture scene - and really wished I had not seen it. I don’t watch stuff like that because it is just burned into my mind and it takes me a long time to get rid of it. Sooooo - I will not be watching The Blacklist. I recorded Castle - but sometimes it is even too bloody for me. So, I guess it will just have to be cartoons or tv before 9 p.m. I just can’t handle the gore, tension and horrible scenes.

I hope you’re enjoying this great weather!

Go to your happy place!

See you next week!
