Beebe Police Chief Wayne Ballew reported that two search and seizure warrants were executed in Beebe on Friday, September 20th, 2013. The warrants were granted for the residence of John C. Kuntz, 70, of 1208 N. Fir Street and his property located at 311 W. Dewitt Henry Drive.
Chief Ballew said that, “The C.I.D. and Narcotics section of the police department began an undercover investigation on May the 3rd this year into allegations that Mr. Kuntz was selling illegal alcohol and/or prescription medications from his residence and un-licensed business on Dewitt Henry.”
The police department had obtained five misdemeanor arrest warrants for Kuntz for the violation of “Procuring liquor for another in a dry county.” At 8:37 a.m. on 09/20/13 officers of the Beebe Police Department executed the search warrant at Kuntz’s residence and premises.
“He was arrested on the five outstanding warrants and taken into custody,” according to the Chief.
Prescription medications such as but not limited to tablets believed to be Xanax and Hydrocodone were found along with two hundred and thirty eight 12 ounce cans of beer, nine 750 ml bottles of whiskey, six 1.75 bottles of whiskey, four 750 ml bottles of Vodka, 3 handguns, items of drug paraphernalia, and $9,618.34 in cash. At 12:26 p.m. the second search warrant was served at 311 W. Dewitt Henry. Seized at that location were: two 1.75 ml bottles of whiskey, three 750 ml bottles of whiskey, fifty six 12 oz cans of beer, $179.00 in cash and a .12 ga. shotgun.
“Additional investigation into Kuntz is on-going and I anticipate several felony charges will be sought by our C.I.D. and Narcotics Enforcement section,” said Chief Ballew.
