A house fire around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, August 31st, at 706 Iowa Street in Beebe was responded to by the Beebe Volunteer Fire, McRae Vol. Fire and Antioch Vol. Fire Departments.

The cause of the fire was listed as undetermined, according to Asst. Beebe Fire Chief Rick Jackson, but he said it is believed something in the bedroom caused the fire. The people who live there - the Whitley’s - were not home but unfortunately, their two dogs were and did not make it. They were overcome by the smoke.
