WCMC Cardiology Clinic Hosts Open HouseAug 29th, 2013 | By admin | Category: Community
Cardiologists and associates at White County Medical Center Cardiology Clinic welcomed the community to tour the newly expanded facility, located at 711 Santa Fe Drive, during an Open House recently. Guests enjoyed refreshments and tours of the new clinic space and visited with cardiologists and associates during the reception.
White County Medical Center President/CEO Ray Montgomery welcomed guests to the reception, delivered opening remarks and introduced members of the WCMC Board of Directors and other distinguished guests from the Jack Stephens Heart Institute at St. Vincent Health System (SVHS) in Little Rock.
Marcia Atkinson addressed guests at the Open House about the outstanding physicians, staff and facility the WCMC Cardiology Clinic offers to the Searcy and White County area. Atkinson is Vice President and Administrator of the Jack Stephens Heart Institute at SVHS and provides leadership and oversight of the cardiovascular service line, as well as physician clinics associated with the Institute, one of which is the WCMC Cardiology Clinic.
Cardiologist Leon Blue, M.D., a Senior Member of the St. Vincent/Heart Clinic Arkansas Physician Group, as well as Chair of the WCMC Cardiology Joint Policy Committee, has served the community in cardiac health for 32 years.
“We have assembled a talented, skilled and unique group of Cardiologists,” he said. “This group, all Board certified, are at the top level of training, education and experience, but more importantly, not only are they heart physicians, but also they have a heart for their profession, a heart for the people they work with and – above all – a heart for the patients they have the privilege to serve.
“We have the honor of being part of a larger cardiology group that gives us support and professional relationships that challenge us to stay at the top of our field. This is the largest group of cardiac healthcare professionals in the state. Also, we have the greatest group of people that work with us here in this practice. There are several who have worked with me in cardiac healthcare for more than 20 years. The family here has created a place where patients are known and cared for in a special way.
Also, we have White County Medical Center that has partnered with us and supplies an outstanding facility and group of healthcare professionals to care for our patients. They have responded to the new realities in the world of healthcare by being agile and willing to work and associate in new ways to benefit our community and our patients. We have facilities that offer the latest in technology, and more importantly, we have people that work in our hospital that are both highly trained, but also kind in heart.”
White County Medical Center collaborated with Cardiologists Leon Blue, M.D.; David Evans, M.D., Eric Robinson, M.D., Bradley Hughes, M.D.; and Katherine Durham, M.D., last September, in which the clinic became an outpatient department of White County Medical Center.
