Beebe Middle School Open House and Dedication Set for Tonight (Thursday) in McRae

The dedication and open house ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with a ribbon cutting for the new Beebe Middle School building.  The open house will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The new Beebe School District Middle School building in McRae includes a safety shelter which will house 700 people; 12  classrooms and labs  in the 30,337  sq. ft. building. The East Lab and Computer Lab will  be housed in this new building which has all classrooms wired for computer and Smart Boards with a technology enhanced Media Center. It has a state of the art Media Center, security controlled entrance, technology labs, REMA approved storm shelter, clerestory windows for day lighting and additional parking. The construction began in June 2012 and was just completed this month. The cost was $147. per square foot (26,084 s.f. in main building, 4,253 s.f. in shelter =total 30,337 s.f.  The architect was John McMorran, AIA - Lewis, Elliott, McMorran, Vaden, Ragsdale and Woodward, Inc.; design consultant: Carmen Brown of the same firm and construction manager was Jack Delk and Eric Delk of Delk Construction. Job Superintendent was Marcus Moore.
