Hundreds of people lined up  early Friday morning, August 2nd, to be some of the first shoppers at the new Beebe Walmart. The official program began at 7:30 a.m. where manager Tim Hammack recognized many of the Walmart associates who had worked so hard to get the new store open. Several officials from Walmart were on hand for the opening as well as many of the Beebe City Council members, Mayor Mike Robertson, Police Chief Wayne Ballew, Fire Chief William Nick, former mayor Phil Petray, Rep. Jeremy Gillam, several of the city employees and many of the citizens of Beebe and surrounding areas.

The program included a Walmart cheer by several of the associates, a ribbon-cutting and then the doors were opened and the hundreds of people there were allowed to enter the new Walmart.   Shoppers were heard saying that now they don’t have to travel to Searcy or Cabot to visit their Walmart.

We welcome Walmart to the community!!!
