The Beebe City Council met for their regular monthly meeting Monday night, June 24th.  Local businessman Keith Griffin was approved after being recommended to join the Beebe Planning and Zoning Commission.  The council approved an ordinance (Ord. 2013-8) which approves increasing the size of the Planning and Zoning Commission going from 7 members to 9 members. The ordinance delineates the number of members from each area: 2 from each of the city’s 3 wards, two from outside the corporate limits but within the recorded planning jurisdiction of the City of Beebe, and  one at large member from any of the city’s electoral wards or outside the corporate limits.

The council also approved Resolution 2013-8, which condemns a residence at 1031 Tori Lane - which was due to flooding.

The council discussed the preparations for the 4th of July event to be held at the city ball park. The public is invited to attend this event with entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. The fireworks display will begin at dark.
