Mail Carriers Donate Food to Beebe Christian Outreach Food CenterMay 16th, 2013 | By admin | Category: News and Features
On Saturday, May 11, the Nation’s largest single day food drive was held across the nation by the U.S. Postal Service, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the National Rural letter Carriers Association to help Stamp Out Hunger.
The local Beebe Postal Carriers picked up around 4,000 pounds of non-perishable food items from residents and donated them to the Beebe Christian Outreach Food Center on May 13, to provide food to local families. One of the carriers stated,”this is the greatest amount of items we have picked up in about 11 years”. The carriers pushed 9 overflowing mail carts to the Outreach Center and helped distribute their contents to the back of the center. Thank you to all residents and mail carriers who helped in this effort! (Photo by Charlotte Paquette/The Beebe News)
