Students in the practical nursing program at Arkansas State University-Searcy, a technical campus of ASU-Beebe, participated in the annual Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse Association (ALPNA) convention in Batesville, April 11-12.
ASU-Searcy winners were Gail Adkins of Searcy placed first in pharmacology; Terri Walton of Cabot won first place in nutrition; Lorie McDole of Searcy won third place in anatomy and physiology; Kimberly Wilson of Ward placed third in the medical spelling. In CPR competition, Emily Bell of Joy and Ansley Hart of Cabot both won second place, and Cami Cox of Des Arc and Kholetta White of Rosebud won third place.
In the Quiz Bowl competition, ASU-Searcy won first and second place in the state. The first place awards were presented to Nicolas Asman of Jacksonville, Ty Davis of Judsonia, Roy Darbro of Jacksonville, and Olivia Morgan-Snider of Beebe; the second place awards were presented to Ashley Berry of Searcy, Autumn Gay of Judsonia, Janessa Moore of Judsonia, and Courtney Scott of Des Arc.
